What were the responsibilities of the people in the seigneurial system?

In the seigneurial system, the seigneur (landlord) was responsible for managing the land, providing protection, and administering justice to the peasants living on their estate. Peasants, or serfs, were obligated to work the land, pay rents, and provide a portion of their produce to the seigneur. They also owed labor duties, such as working on the seigneur's demesne, and had to follow various feudal obligations. In return, seigneurs were expected to offer security and support, creating a reciprocal relationship between the two groups.
