What would you do if the wrong problem is being fixed at work?

When an employees realizes that a problem being fixed at work is really not the problem that needs to be addressed first. Generally speaking, it woud be proper to inform the manager handling the problem and voice your views about a more serious problem. Should that fail, and the problem is a serious one, one alternative is to contact the companies auditing department.
