is built above the surface of water bodies like rivers or lakes. from the drop hole in the base, excreta falls straight into water and decomposes there over a period of time. it is usually made of light weight material like bamboo, wood, tin sheets. it may or may not have a roof. it is usually supported by bamboo and mangrove stilts. the flooring is also made of bamboo slats with a hole at the center. no treatment is done to the excreta.
