Yes. No major manufacturer could exist if they produced bad cars. The question really is, how does the quality of Ford cars compare with that of other major manufacturers. In years past, the concept of planned obsolescence was adopted by American vehicle manufacturers. This concept meant that an individual vehicle would be designed to fail at a certain number of miles, and replacement parts for that vehicle would be cost prohibitive, thus prompting the owner to purchase a new vehicle. Faced with foreign manufacturers who produced better quality and longer lasting vehicles, the troubled American car industry has made a recommitment to quality vehicles, in order to stay competitive.
