How was Mario called first?

Mario was first named Jump Man, when he appeared in Donkey Kong, the arcade game. He also appeared as Jump Man in Donkey Kong's 2 and 3. He got his own game and a new name in "Mario Bros." and finally he made a real name for himself in "Super Mario Bros."
