If you are naughty does your elf on the shelf leave?

Some families have the tradition that the Elf on the Shelf reports back to Santa about children's behavior, so if a child is naughty, the elf may "move" to a different location or indicate to Santa that the child has misbehaved. However, it's ultimately up to each family how they incorporate this tradition.
