How did hades get his powers?

Hades got his powers when he and his 2 brothers, Zeus and Poseidon defeated Kronus and the titans. Zeus, Poseidon and Hades all drew straws to see what powers they got, Zeus drew the longest straw and became God of the Sky. Poseidon drew the middle straw and became God of the sea. Hades drew the shortest straw and became God of the Underworld.
