What are unique qualities of clay that make it a good building material?

Clay is a good material for building models and such because it is very tough. However, it is still a very moldable substance. It shapes easily. But if clay get too cold it will either crack, or it will get to tough to mold. Always keep the room at around 69-72 degrees. Have fun.
