Hippos do not hibernate in the traditional sense like some other animals. Instead, they remain active year-round, but they do spend a significant amount of time in water, especially during the hot parts of the day, to keep cool and protect their skin. In cooler weather, they may be less active, but they still forage for food. Overall, their behavior is more about adapting to environmental conditions rather than true hibernation.
