Are genital warts the same as regular warts?

Genital warts are similar in appearance occasionally to several other things. Herpes can often be mistaken for warts in their initial stages. Also, many other STDs and rashes that can appear on the genitals, including ingrown hairs, can be mistaken for genital warts and other STDs.
