Does a fluid coupling multiply torque?

A fluid coupling does not multiply torque in the same way a mechanical gear does. Instead, it transmits power through fluid dynamics, allowing for a smooth transfer of torque between the input and output shafts. The torque output will generally be lower than the input torque, but it can allow for increased torque delivery under certain conditions, such as during acceleration. Thus, while it facilitates torque transfer, it does not inherently multiply it.
