What is the difference between a new tab and a new window?

There are always two options to go to new link.

one is open in new tab and other is open in a new window.

new tab is, the existing already opened tab would not close and will remain as it is open and new path or link or website will be open in new tab of browser.

on the other hand a new window is, when anyone click on new path or link and a pop up small dialogue box type window come in front of existing page without closing that page from which we click that new link, called new window.
