How do you program an RCA rcr 615 universal remote?

We tried and tried to do it by the instructions that came with the remote, but we just couldn't get it programmed.

Then, on the web, we read instructions from a user which allowed us to program it, and it was much easier.

Start with the appliance (TV, VCR) off and turn on.

1. Press the appliance button (TV, VCR) and the ON/OFF button, holding them down until the ON/OFF button lights up. Release the buttons and the ON/OFF button should stay lit.

2. Then press the play button every couple of seconds until the appliance turns off.

3. Then press the REVERSE button every couple of seconds until the appliance turns on.

4. Then press STOP (on the bottom) to save the programming.

5. UREKA!
