1 ] to check for hemophilia

2] to make sure you have no clotting disorders prior to surgery

3] to make sure your clotting time is acceptable for people on blood-thinning medications, such as Heparin.

4 ] If you are hemophiliac, to see if you need Vit K to promote better clotting.
