How do you change the car battery on a 1996 Pontiac Grand prix?

Go to your local Walmart and look for the battery you need using the lists by the battery stand. Walmart has a no questions asked replacement for 3 years on some. Then go to the auto desk to pay for it, tell the attendant you need assistance installing it and it may be done for free (I think - not sure as I do it myself).. Thats the easy way. If you do it yourself always disconnect the black (neg )lead first - good reason is that if you hit your end of the spanner against something it wont create a short - if you try the red end first(+) it will give a lovely big spark if you tough the spanner to the chassis with the black still connected.
