A compressed gas or air source works pretty well if a broom handle won't work. wrap a rag or towel around the air hose (to help seal the small diameter hose of the vent pipe),stuff the end in the end of the end of the disconnected vent at the dryer. Open the valve and magic happens. the larger the diameter of the pressure source the better. I did this with a squirrel once. After flying around the pipe he got a bit shaken up and scurried off. It is a good idea to put some screen over the outlet (and keep it cleaned out) if a standard dryer vent flapper with louvers cannot be fitted outside the termination.
