Shoes or more notably foot wrapping began in prehistoric time. hunters and their families moved from warm climates in to forest and colder areas of the developing planet. When they realised that the skins of the animals could afford them warmth and shelter they used the skins to wrap their feet to protect them against the harsh landscape and the changes in climate from hot to bitter cold. As with all things human, they used their initiative and started to tie the wraps , similar to boots. This gave way to more changes until sandals were made - followed by scrapped animal skin which became hard. These became the shoe soles - the rest as they say is history
