What is mitropolol?

Metoprolol is a medication belonging to a class of drugs called beta-blockers. It is commonly used to treat high blood pressure, heart failure, and certain types of angina (chest pain). By blocking beta-adrenergic receptors, metoprolol helps to reduce heart rate and lower blood pressure, ultimately decreasing the heart's workload. It is available in both immediate-release and extended-release formulations.
