Many people have made claims that applying deodorant to areas that have just been shaved prevent razor burn. Just as many people claim that deodorant only irritates the area in question. I would especially NOT recommend using Right Guard, Secret, or spray deodorants, they are most frequently cited for causing irritation.
Personal experience suggests that there may be some validity to the idea that deodorant will prevent razor burn when applied after shaving, but be sure to do a test patch on your legs with a few different types of deodorant to see how your skin reacts. Even if the deodorant trick works for one person, it may not for the next. I recommend trying Dove Ultimate Visibly Smooth, it's very gentle and formulated to minimize hair growth.
