What is tamarind?

It has a yellowish wood, fragrant yellow flowers, and long seed pods with edible chocolate-colored acidic pulp. The pulp is utilized in a variety of Indian dishes, and as a syrup, and is one of the main ingredients of traditional Worcestershire sauce.
