This could depend dramatically. If the young singer is relatively unknown, and only sings in clubs and pubs then they are unlikely to earn very much. If they have agents to promote them, or become famous in some way (e.g. by entering a talent contest) then they are likely to earn much more. If the young singer makes CD's to sell, then this will boost their income.
