Treasure hunt clues for 5-8 year olds?

Any series of hints that direct the participant to the final destination.

An example would be some kind of riddle, that HINTS where to go next, but does not state directly. Personally, I'm on the search for some good (as in, difficult, and yet still possible to figure out) clues for some friends of mine.
