Where is the oil filter located on a 2005 Mercedes C230 Kompressor?

Although I don't have exact location details, the oil filter itself is a "drop-in" cartridge style filter, about 6 inches long and only 2-3/4 inches in diameter. It's a fairly "skinny" filter, compared to typical oil filters. The filter fits inside a housing ... which in many cases is located under the hood, near the top part of the engine. The housing will have a cap that unscrews, with the filter inside the housing.
