How much does it cost to tile a bathtub?

One local place quoted me a flat rate of $500, although cheaper could probably be found

Installation of tile can cost around $4 (here anyway) a sq foot for walls and floors.. but a little more if the pattern is complex and requires a lot of cutting/extra attention like around bathtubs.

Also some tiles are harder than others, making them harder to cut... the only way to be sure is to get a few quotes from local installers.
