In J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings," two members of the Fellowship of the Ring die during their journey. Boromir is killed by Uruk-hai while defending Merry and Pippin, and later, Frodo and Sam part ways with the Fellowship, leaving Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli to continue. While they face many dangers, only Boromir's death is confirmed within the Fellowship.
