One Opinion
Without knowing the specifics of the reasons why teachers might go on strike, I'd have to say "No." Public school teachers in our area are very well paid and they can look forward to 6 digit pensions in retirement with a yearly 3% automatic COLA. There is no reason they can't contribute more to their health care plans or even toward their own retirement. At one time, they were underpaid, but now the opposite seems to be true. Most people in the non-public sector have not gotten close to the pay increases our teachers have gotten.
