The Mayflower Compact was a document written and signed by the first colonists to arrive in the first colony in Massachusettes (Plymouth Colony). Its purpose was simply to serve as an agreement for the male representatives saying that, "Yes, we will obey the laws. The laws will be in line with the English crown and most importantly with the glory of God."

The US Constitution was written centuries later after the Americans had broken away and won independence from the British. Its purpose was to outline laws and guidelines for the government. It gave the government branches rights as well as limits.
