How does water affects the life of animals?

Animals will only live in areas where there is enough water for them to survive. Thus, fish and amphibians can only live in bodies of water, and animals like mammals, reptiles, birds, and many insects can live farther away. In a place with very little water, it may be that only animals which can acquire all of their necessary water from food can exist. In a place with abundant water, generally there is a greater variety and population of animals.
