The Buddha, Siddhartha Gautama, is believed to have died around 483 BCE at the age of 80 in Kushinagar, India. His death is described as a peaceful passing, known as Parinirvana, after eating a meal that may have been contaminated. He experienced physical weakness and ultimately lay down in a grove of trees, where he delivered his final teachings to his disciples before entering Nirvana. His death marked the end of his earthly existence but the continuation of his teachings.
