With corked bottles, storage has a few elements:

-minimise even small temperature fluctuations to reduce bottle/cork expansion and contraction and thus reducing minor air exchanges into the bottle (this is more significant than actual temperature)

-keep the temperature between 10-18C for reasonable stable ageing processes. Down toward 5C a wine will still age just very slowly. Once above 28C chemical reactions can turn nasty

-reduce exposure to light/sunlight. Light rays penetrate wine bottles and can lead to premature aging. Ultraviolet sun rays are particularly likely to 'cook' wine and degrade organic compounds.

-horizontal storage, keeping the cork wet, to hopefully minimise oxidisation

-humidity is required to again help keep the cork moist and reduce minor evaporation e.g. 60-75%. Humidity beyond this can promote the growth of microorganisms.

-avoid exaggerated vibration which prevents the normal sediment in an aging wine from settling. E.g. avoid machines or motors such as on top of the fridge.

-avoid moulds (if the wine labels, books, clothes stink or get mouldy then try increasing venitlation), garage or cleaning chemicals, and storing alongside foods with yeasts

The screw-top reduces air movement into the bottle very significantly compared to cork (depending on design). You can probably deduce yourself which factors remain important to cellaring the screwtop: avoiding light, vibration & significant moulds/smells; keeping a reasonable temperature & avoiding significant temperature fluctuations.

And, all that said, cork is an ideal material for 'aging' wine because the small gas exchange, under good storage, can gently age the wine. Note that greener/crisper wines that are meant to be aged will age more slowly under closures that are not cork, but will still age - the knowledge in this area is still developing.

Regarding time of cellaring this often comes back to the quality of the wine. If you want advice on all the above, specific to the wine you are intending to store, then what about visiting a region you like and getting advice at the cellar door...
