What During this state man used simple tools to hunt animals and vegetation?

They the would make a flint and tie it to a stick using string (they made string with plant fibres) then they would throw them at animals to kill them. to kill mammoths they would chase it to a cliff or something along them lines and drop a really big rock on it to kill it .
