What type of book is diary of Anne Frank?

Anne Frank's diary was actually an autograph book. It was red and green plaid, and had a small lock in the front.
Her original diary was a cloth covered book of red with green plaid or "gingham" pattern. Her other (continued) diary books were unused office ledgers, and ultimately sheets of thin blue and pink paper.
