Why can't i change channels with dish network remote control?

Do you have fresh batteries in the remote? Even though the buttons at the top of the remote may light up, the batteries may not be strong enough to get the signal to the receiver to complete the operation. If you do have fresh batteries, you may need to readdress the remote to the receiver. I have provided instructions for this operation.

Remote: All Other Remotes

1. Go to System Info screen by pressing the Menu button on the remote 2 times.
2. Locate the address for the remote towards the bottom of the TV screen.
3. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
4. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.
5. Press the pound (#) button.
6. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record. Note: If successful, the number selected in step 3 will appear in the System Info screen under Remote Address.
