What are the advantages and disadvantages of using a motorcycle?

Advantages:

-lower fuel costs than a passenger vehicle

-may not require emissions tests

-most riders consider the actual riding to be fun and exciting

-where legal, motorcycles can "split lanes" and avoid traffic

-you may participate in rider clubs and events

-some motorcycles can greatly outperform even high performance cars in regards to acceleration and top speed

-parking is generally easier, especially in impacted urban environments

Disadvantages:

-far less safe than a passenger vehicle

-limited or no protection in adverse weather conditions

-depending on type, poor weather performance may be limited

-limited or no cargo space

-limited passenger capacity
