How do you remove governor from Chevy 350?

Step 1:

Verify that the engine HAS a governor. Most did not. Typically only rental TRUCKS were equipped with a governor.

Engines tend to limit the high end RPM for one of two reasons:

* When you develop "valve float", which means that the valve springs don't close the valves fast enough to run any faster * When you "max out" on the amount of air that's getting to the engine. Make sure it isn't some thing as simple as that before you try to do major modifications to the engine.
