Summary of 'Sales'-Anita Desai

There was an artist whose family were living in poor conditions. They have to get some money to buy their needs and wants. So, there was a rich couple who had met him, written a note and made an appointment. They were going to buy the artist's drawings. His pictures were not properly displayed that they fell to the floor. When he had to show what the pictures represent, he is not skilled at. He's spontaneous and slack. He even doesn't remember the color of the paintings. There was bleak picture that he gets form the window, he lives in poor environment and lacks ambition. At almost the end, they didn't want to buy his drawings and their only urge is to run away form the desperate man.
