Batfish are primarily found in the warm waters of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, particularly around coral reefs and sandy bottoms. They are commonly spotted in shallow depths, often at around 30 to 100 meters (98 to 328 feet), but can also be found in deeper waters. Notably, species like the red-lipped batfish are often associated with the Galápagos Islands, while others inhabit areas around the Caribbean and Gulf of California.
