What year did the first Mario game come out?

Technically, Mario first appeared in 1981, but he was known as Jumpman in the original Donkey Kong. Super Mario Bros. was released for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985. 2010 was the 25th Anniversary of Super Mario Bros. but Mario was in games before that.
