How many ASE test must you take?

8 of them, A1-engine repair A2-automatic trans/transaxle A3-manual drive train and axles A4-suspension and steering A5-brakes A6-electrical/electronic systems A7-heating and air conditioning A8-engine performance. you must pass them all to become a master tech and you will have to register every 5 years after that to retake the tests so you dont lose your certification because it expires after that period.
