How do you become dedicated?

I've been looking for the answer to the very same question myself, the best I've arrived at is that it isn't a question of "how do I become dedicated to ______", but "why do I want to be dedicated to ______". Don't look without but within. If what you're trying to dedicate yourself to is that important to you, by virtue of it being important to you, one ought to be at least emotionally dedicated to it, right? But maybe we're both just real lazy, or in my case lazy but at least smart enough to find some semi-philosophical reason to back away from that nasty 'D' Word. Just keep digging, you're on the right track. Either way, I hope you figure it out. Oh, and if you do, let the world know about it-- I'll be listening. Hope this helps.
