How can an ectotherm change its body temperature?

The ectothermics warm up by basking in the sun. But they don't bask all the time.

They have to cool down, since ectothermics are cold blooded creatures, which means they cant control their body temperature.

Plus at night time they move slowly. At daylight, they may be very active.
