What does all our yesterdays mean?

It means our shared past, our common experience. It was the title of a groundbreaking television programme in the UK which told the story of the years around the second world war using the reports and newsreels of the time. It was originally a line in Macbeth,

'And all our yesterdays have lighted fools
The way to dusty death.'
