How could one check if there are surveillance cameras in a dressing room?

It is very difficult to tell if there are any surveillance cameras in a dressing. This is so that anyone wanting to steal anything does not know that there are cameras. One could ask a sales assistant but it is not guaranteed the assistant will tell you or not.
