wild duck are best left alone

tame (barnyard) ducks should have a hut/house that is safe from all animals. The space should be 3 sq ft inside the hut for each bird at night and 8 ft in the day pen per bird. All sides plus the top and bottom should be covered with protective wire.

The hut will need to have a lock that a raccoon can not open, vents covered with hardware cloth wire, make sure there is no way a raccoon can reach into the inside of the hut to grab the ducks.

The day pen will need to have wire buried two feet below the soil to stop animals from digging under it. it will have to have the bottom 3 feet the the wire cover with hardware cloth wire. Chair link fence can be used as long as the lower part is cover and the holes are small enough nothing can reach in or crawl in to get to the birds.

Look up duck housing on the net.
