On Pokemon Dialga Palkia and Giratina are Pokemon gods but What is darkrai?

Darkai is a very special type of Pokemon that you can only get in convections of Pokemon, you get it with the mystery gift, which is why i think they have in diamond and peral. i don't know what it is, its a Pokemon.
