Similar to the Ying and Yang - the black and white cat would symbolise good vs bad or negative vs positive. White cats have been linked with sun, fertility, and warmth whereas black cats have been linked with the moon, sterility, hairl/storm.
Cats - in and of themselves - are regarded as dual creatures - possesing both positive and negative traits...the black and white imagery of this type of tattoo only strengthens the symbolism of this dual nature.
