Wires are not usually thought of as components, since wires just connect between components.

If you look at a circuit diagram, the wires are usually just simple lines, showing that they are only there to convey current/voltage between the more complex components.

Wiring can affect how a circuit works, but this is not a desirable thing. Designers will usually select wiring that has the *least possible* effect on the circuit.
