Radio and film allowed for a much greater audiance to political races, changed peoples impressions of candidates, and allowed the general public to see and hear the results of political desicions.
Radio allowed people to hear speeches as they were being delivered. It gave new life to the art of public speaking by allowing politicians to show their talent (or lack there of) for addressing the people. This changed public perception of politicians. One may be less inclined to vote for a man who stutters as he proposes solutions to the days problems. Radio allowed for news to spread quicker, making it harder for politicians to cover up mistakes and forced them to come up with quick responses to changes in hot topics.
Film allowed people to experience the news and see politics at work, even from miles away. The ability to know what the politician your voting for looks like often impacts your decision. John Kennedy's campaign was more than likely influenced by the public seeing a young powerful man and his glamorous wife. Also, with film, anyone could see what was going on in the world. Film changed how the public reacted to the news.
