How was Laura Ingalls Wilder a hero?

I consider her a hero for overcoming all that she did in her lifetime and downplaying all the heartache she had and focusing on the happy and good things in her life. Most people would not be able to deal with moving as much as she did; losing crops, having a brother who died and later a son, losing her home to a fire and dealing with her husband's crippling illness and only focus on the good things that happened to her which were really quite simple.
