The different breeds of dogs are classified in the UK as either:

Gundog

Hound

Pastoral

Terrier

Utility

The working group has some of the largest dogs: great pyrenees, great dane, newfoundland, but it also has smaller dogs like collies. Another large breed is the Irish wolfhound, and that is in the hound group.
